US President Imposes 30 Percent Tarif on EU, Mexico
Washington, July 12 (QNA) - US President Donald Trump announced today the imposition of tariffs of up to 30 percent on imports from the European Union and Mexico, set to take effect starting August 1.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump stated that this move comes as part of his administration's efforts to protect the American economy and industries, affirming that goods imported from the European Union and Mexico will be subject to the new tariffs.
It is worth noting that the European Union had been working in recent months to reach a comprehensive trade agreement with the United States, covering the bloc's 27 member states.
Last week, the US President also announced new tariffs on imports from several countries, including Japan, South Korea, Canada, and Brazil, in addition to a 50 percent tariff on copper imports. (QNA)
