Ministry of Sports and Youth, National Service Academy Strengthen Youth Development Cooperation
Doha, June 30 (QNA) - The Ministry of Sports and Youth and the National Service Academy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in youth development and talent cultivation among national service recruits.
In a statement released today, the Ministry of Sports and Youth explained that the MoU falls within the framework of strengthening joint efforts to support and empower Qatari youth. It seeks to familiarize national service recruits with the programs and activities offered by the Ministry's affiliated youth centers and to encourage their active participation, thereby contributing to the development of their skills and talents across various fields.
The agreement outlines a range of joint initiatives, including the organization of an annual youth center forum at the Academy and the implementation of the "Live the National Service" program targeting youth aged 15 to 17. Additionally, it encompasses youth activities and training sessions held at the Academy, along with the exchange of expertise and knowledge between both entities to enhance youth engagement in community service and align with the nation's vision of building an informed and capable generation.
HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Eng. Yasir bin Abdullah Al Jamal affirmed that this partnership aligns with the Ministry's vision to empower Qatari youth and expand their involvement in various developmental sectors. He noted that the initiative is in line with the Third National Development Strategy (2024–2030), which places youth at the core of its priorities as a driving force for a sustainable and prosperous future. Al-Jamal also praised the pivotal role of the National Service Academy in shaping the character of young people and instilling a strong sense of responsibility.
For his part, President of the National Service Academy, Brigadier General Salem Masoud Al Hababi underscored the significance of the MoU in opening new avenues for national service recruits to benefit from the Ministry's diverse programs. He emphasized the positive impact such collaboration will have on enhancing their skills and developing their capabilities within a safe and motivating environment.
The MoU exemplifies the spirit of institutional integration in Qatar, as both parties work together to nurture a proactive and responsible generation of youth capable of contributing to the nation's sustainable development goals.
Commenting on the occasion, Director of the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Fawaz Abdullah Al Musaifri stated that the Ministry is committed to a comprehensive approach in empowering all segments of youth in Qatar. This is achieved by designing high-quality programs that meet their needs and aspirations while enhancing their skills and supporting the objectives of Qatar's National Youth Policy.
The MoU further reaffirms the Ministry's vision: "An active and responsible youth with a strong sense of national identity and a society engaged in sports." It also aligns with the strategic goals of the Youth Affairs Department, which focus on empowering young people, providing an enabling environment for their development, and encouraging greater community participation.
