Baghdad, June 23 (QNA) - The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed on Monday Iraq's solidarity with the State of Qatar and the importance of maintaining its sovereignty and security, reiterating Iraq's firm position that regional crises can only be resolved through dialogue.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is following with great concern the serious and accelerating escalation witnessed in the region, as seen in the attack on the State of Qatar, a development that Iraq has long warned could occur, given the serious risks it poses to the security and stability of the entire region.

The Ministry added that this escalation signals the possibility of further tensions and represents a critical and unprecedented escalation in the conflict, amid Iraq's consistent warnings regarding the serious risks posed by the involvement of additional actors in the conflict, which could lead to a broader confrontation a goal the Israeli entity has long sought to achieve through its insistence and continued aggression for two years.

The Ministry reaffirmed Iraq's principled and consistent position that the only viable path to resolving regional crises is through dialogue, adherence to diplomatic channels, and the rejection of military options, which only lead to more violence and human suffering.

The Ministry reiterated, according to the statement, its calls for exercising restraint, unifying efforts to halt the escalation, andآ prioritizing reason and shared interests in order to preserve the security and stability of the peoples of the region. (QNA)
