French President Welcomes PSG at Elysee Palace Following 1st UEFA Champions League Title

Paris, June 01 (QNA) - French President Emmanuel Macron received the victorious Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) team at the Elysee Palace on Sunday, celebrating their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, won after defeating Inter Milan 5-0.

During his reception of the Parisian club, President Macron expressed his pride in this achievement on behalf of the French people, praising PSG's players and coaching staff for their tremendous efforts.

Addressing the team, the French president said: "You are the champions and you have put Paris at the top of Europe," adding that they were hungry for success, showed great determination, and accomplished the mission brilliantly.

Macron hoped to see the team again next year with a second star on their jerseys, expressing confidence in their aspiration for move.

The French President also addressed PSG President Nasser bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi, saying that he has always stood by the club in both good and difficult times and thanked the State of Qatar for its commitment, continued investment, and belief in this sporting project, which have had a significant impact on this triumph.

Macron told the team that they have given the PSG jersey a new spirit and that they have inspired an entire generation of youth.

The President encouraged them to keep going on this path and to always live up to expectations.

Meanwhile, tens of thousands of Paris Saint-Germain supporters gathered along Paris's iconic Champs-Elysees this evening, celebrating the team with chants, flags, fireworks, and cheers as they welcomed PSG players. (QNA)
