Education Ministry Holds Closing Ceremony for "My Values Shape My Identity" Project
Doha, June 02 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens, in cooperation with the Tarbeya Center for Future Leaders, held the closing ceremony of the "My Values Shape My Identity" project for the 2024-2025 academic year. The event was held under the patronage of HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater.
The ceremony was attended by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, and Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs, Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama, along with several ministry officials, school principals, and representatives from ministries and bodies participating in the project.
In a statement on Monday, the ministry said the "My Values Shape My Identity" project aims to enhance national identity and preserve community customs and traditions, based on values of belonging to the homeland. It also seeks to raise awareness about the importance of digital safety, privacy, and security while browsing the internet. Additionally, it educates students about physical and psychological health deterrents, protects them from surrounding dangers, promotes the concept of human nature among students, shields them from intrusive cultural and intellectual influences, and provides a safe, bullying-free environment based on values of respect and tolerance among all students.
During the ceremony, Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama said that the project has proven that values are not just slogans, but rather behavior, upbringing, and identity, pointing out that all private schools and kindergartens participated in implementing this project, presenting honorable examples of integrated educational work in cooperation with the project's national partners from 20 ministries and national institutions.
He added that honoring loyal partners, distinguished schools, diligent students, and supportive parents confirms that this success would not have been achieved without the solidarity of everyone and their belief that building people is the foundation of national advancement.
During the event, student Mubarakah Al Marri recited a patriotic poem that impressed the audience. A special video illustrating the importance of instilling values and ethics in students was also shown. The project ambassadors for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year were introduced, with Dr. Rania Mohamed, Director of the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, presenting the "My Values Shape My Identity" charter to the ambassadors from private schools, a first-of-its-kind initiative this year.
Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama and Dr. Rania Mohamed also honored the Tarbeya Center for Future Leaders - the project's strategic partner, along with local partners from participating ministries, bodies, and institutions.
Private schools that contributed to the implementation and application of the "My Values Shape My Identity" project last year were also recognized.
A three-year plan has been developed for the project, starting this current year, which includes core and sub-values. The performance of private schools is evaluated annually based on their contribution and effective participation in promoting national identity. They are honored with platinum, gold, silver, or bronze shields according to the extent of their participation. This embodies the vision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in enhancing national identity and Qatari culture through education, and reflects its deep commitment to instilling educational values in students.
