Doha, June 16 (QNA) - Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), a partner university of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), announced the opening of registration for its upcoming summer art and design programs, which will be held during July and August.

The university indicated in a statement today that these programs aim to cultivate creativity, develop technical skills, and enhance self-confidence. They also provide unique and inspiring educational experiences for children aged 8-14 and for high school students aged 16 and older.

The university stated that the summer program for high school students will run from July 13-31, daily from Sunday to Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It explained that this intensive program will provide high school students with a practical experience, introducing them to the majors offered at the university, such as: Graphic Design, Interior Design, Painting and Printmaking, and Kinetic Imaging. The program will also offer an optional fourth week on developing a personal artistic portfolio for students considering university admission, from August 3-7.

Participants will engage in practical projects, critique sessions, and collaborative exercises that contribute to developing creative thinking, communication skills, and technical abilities.

The university noted that the summer program for children aged 8-14 years targets children who are beginning to discover their artistic talents and hone their creative skills. It will be held from July 13-24, daily from Sunday to Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It explained that this program is designed to foster creativity through fun and structured exploration. Children will acquire new skills through drawing, storytelling, digital illustration, and other activities, and will develop their focus, imagination, and self-confidence.

In this context, Program Manager for Community and Continuing Education at VCUarts Rasha Al Kasab said that this year's summer program focuses on providing participants with a deeper and more accurate understanding of the university and its culture of creativity, innovation, and academic excellence, as well as exploring the impact of creative education on participants' lives.
