Supreme Leader of Iran Appoints New Army Chief of Staff
Tehran, June 13 (QNA) - Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei appointed Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi as Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, replacing Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, who was killed in the Israeli attack on Iran earlier today.
According to a statement from Iran’s Supreme Leader carried by the Iranian news agency IRNA, the appointment of General Abdolrahim Mousavi as head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces comes in light of his extensive experience.
Khamenei expressed his expectation that the new chief of staff will strengthen the security and defense readiness of the armed forces and ensure their ability to respond swiftly and effectively to any type or level of threat facing Iran. (QNA)
