Doha, May 07 (QNA) - The final matches of Group A in the 2024-2025 HH the Amir Cup Basketball Tournament will take place Thursday, with Qatar SC facing Al Gharafa and Al Arabi taking on Al Sadd.

Al Gharafa aims to continue its winning streak after a surprise 99-92 victory over Al Sadd in the previous round, which boosted its tally to four points and brought it closer to qualifying for the next stage.

Meanwhile, Qatar SC will be fighting for a crucial win that could grant them passage to the quarter-finals, as they have collected only three points from three matches.

In the other clash, Al Arabi will take on Al Sadd, looking to secure qualification, currently sitting in second place with seven points. Al Sadd seeks to bounce back from its recent defeat and stay in contention with a victory.

Group A standings currently place Al Ahli at the top with seven points, having completed its group-stage matches.

Al Arabi follows with six points, while Al Gharafa and Al Sadd share third place with four points each. Qatar SC sits in fifth place with three points.

In Group B, Al Rayyan has already secured its spot in the semi-finals, finishing with six points from three consecutive wins.

The first round follows a single-round league format, with Group A consisting of Al Ahli, Al Sadd, Al Gharafa, Al Arabi, and Qatar SC, while Group B includes Al Rayyan, Al Khor, Al Wakrah, and Al Shamal.

The group winners advance directly to the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams will compete in a knockout round ("Course Stage") to determine the remaining semi-finalists.

The semi-finals will follow a "best-of-three" format, with the final scheduled to take place at Al Gharafa Arena on May 22. (QNA)
