Doha, May 06 (QNA) - Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar, Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, emphasized that the university's graduates are increasingly in demand in the job market, thanks to the advanced practical skills they acquire through the university's programs. These skills are immediately applicable in the workplace, providing graduates with a clear competitive advantage in their professional careers.

In an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar - a partner university of Qatar Foundation - said that 2024 marked a milestone in the university's journey, as it attracted the largest number of participants in its academic programs since the launch of its operations in 2010. This year also witnessed a record number of international participants come to Doha, in addition to hundreds of people joining its executive education programs, which strengthened the university's presence on the academic scene in an unprecedented manner, making its influence broader and stronger than ever before.

Dr. de Holan pointed out that the HEC Paris alumni network is one of the strongest in the world, providing lifelong support through the alumni association, which brings them together through special events and social activities. It also provides them with ongoing opportunities to connect and interact across the globe, strengthening their professional and personal relationships and increasing their chances of development and success.

Regarding the university's cooperation with the public and private sectors to provide job opportunities for graduates, Dr. de Holan explained that HEC Paris works closely with relevant authorities, companies, and institutions that employ its graduates. They also pay great attention to feedback and comments, ensuring that students and graduates are equipped with the skills that enable them to perform their duties efficiently and contribute value to their workplaces.

Dr. de Holan addressed the university's contribution to promoting innovation and scientific research within the Education City environment, explaining that HEC Paris conducts qualitative research in Doha, similar to other academic institutions, and that it also prepares educational and pedagogical materials based on practical realities in local companies and the prevailing conditions in Qatar and the Arabian Gulf region.

The Dean of HEC Paris in Doha added that the university believes that building expertise and refining talent is the best way to keep pace with global changes and understand how to deal with them. He pointed out that HEC Paris in Doha is an active member of the Qatari entrepreneurship ecosystem, playing a key role in launching and accelerating numerous business ventures, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which places entrepreneurship at the heart of its development priorities.

Regarding the rise in the number of enrollments for HEC Paris in Doha's graduate programs compared to previous years, Dr. de Holan emphasized that the university's programs in 2024 witnessed unprecedented demand, with enrollment rates reaching their highest levels.

He said that HEC Paris in Doha aspires to enhance Qatar’s position as a leading center for developing leadership and management skills through cooperation with Qatar Foundation. Their future plans include attracting more participants and companies from the region and the world, who seek to benefit from the distinguished educational programs offered by the university in Doha, which are among the best in the world.

The Dean of HEC Paris in Doha expressed pride in offering these programs from the university's campus in Msheireb Downtown Doha, which represents an important launching point for achieving the university's vision and educational mission in Qatar and the region.

Concluding his remarks to QNA, Dr. de Holan stressed that both Qatar Foundation and HEC Paris in Doha believe that education is one of the main paths to building a more just and sustainable world. He pointed out that the right to education faces numerous challenges in some parts of the world, which makes defending it a collective responsibility that requires concerted efforts. He stressed that developing one's own capabilities through study and learning is one of the best ways to confront these challenges and achieve empowerment, calling for the need for various parties to work together to guarantee this basic right for everyone without exception.
