Doha, May 5 (QNA) - HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani witnessed the signing of a Letter of Intent for strategic cooperation between the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and Cisco Systems.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Chairman and CEO of Cisco Systems, Chuck Robbins and a number of senior officials from both sides.

The Letter of Intent was signed for the MOI by Director General of Communications and Information Systems, Brigadier Jassim Al Buhashim Al Sayed and for Cisco by Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, Romania, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), David Meads.

The signing of the Letter of Intent comes within the framework of strengthening partnerships with leading global companies in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure, contributing to supporting the MOI's efforts to develop a smart security system and comprehensive digital transformation.

HE the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) also discussed with the Chairman and CEO of Cisco Systems the cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the company, particularly in the areas of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure development, and cybersecurity. They also discussed prospects for partnership in future strategic projects. (QNA)
