Washington, May 29 (QNA) - Google has announced a comprehensive update to its Photos app, including a complete redesign of the photo editor interface and the integration of several advanced AI tools previously exclusive to Pixel phones, making it easier for users to edit photos without requiring technical expertise or professional applications.

The company explained that the new editor combines several AI-powered editing tools into a unified interface, including the AI Magic Editor and Auto Frame features, which suggest different image configurations by cropping or expanding them, with the ability to automatically fill in spaces using generative AI, in addition to the Reimagine feature, which allows new elements to be added to images simply by describing them in text.

The new interface design replaces the double-tiered editor menu with a single row of three thumbnail buttons: Enhance, Dynamic, and a new option called AI Enhance. This option automatically produces three edits that automatically combine multiple AI effects like image sharpening and object removal, allowing users to choose their preferred results.

Google added that users can also draw over specific areas of an image to select an object and make targeted edits, such as moving the person or object, blurring the background, or adjusting the lighting, through a pop-up tool menu that suggests the best effects to apply, indicating that the updates are rolling out globally to Android devices starting next month, and will reach iPhones and iPads "later this year."

Google has not yet clarified whether these tools will be available for all Android devices or remain limited to specific models. (QNA)
