Baghdad, May 1 (QNA) - The Iraqi Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) has announced that crude oil exports to Jordan during the first quarter of this year exceeded 1 million barrels.

The company stated in statistics published Thursday that Iraqi oil exports to Jordan during the months of January, February, and March amounted to 1,039,591 barrels, a 33.88 percent decrease compared to the same period last year, when exports amounted to 1,391,985 barrels.

It indicated that oil exports to Jordan for January amounted to 309,980 barrels, rising in February to 419,946 barrels, and declining in March to 309,765 barrels.

In August 2023, Jordan agreed with Iraq to increase imports from 10,000 barrels per month to 15,000 barrels, thereby increasing the quantity from 300,000 barrels to 450,000 barrels, covering approximately 10 percent of Jordan's crude oil needs.(QNA)
