Russia Summons French Envoy Over Diplomat's Detention in Paris
Moscow, April 09 (QNA) - Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday summoned the French ambassador following the detention of a female employee working with the ministry by the French border service.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia doesn't not intend to let this go without consequences, stressing that this move is merely the beginning of the retaliatory measures that Paris will face. She strenuously protested to the French Embassy's crew in Paris, because the employee had to spend one day in the airport's free zone.
The Russian Presidency condemned the detention of the Russian diplomat in Paris, describing the act as unacceptable and a violation of France's obligations under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. (QNA)
