New York, April 5 (QNA) - The United Nations called on the world today to stand in solidarity with earthquake-hit Myanmar, as the death toll rose to 3,354.

During a visit to Mandalay, Myanmar's second-largest city and close to the epicenter of the 7.7-magnitude earthquake, Tom Fletcher, the UN Emergency Relief Coordinator, appealed to the international community for support.

"The devastation is devastating.

Lives lost, homes destroyed, livelihoods shattered. But the resilience is incredible.

The world must stand in solidarity with the people of Myanmar," he said in a post on X.

Myanmar's neighbors, such as China, India, and Southeast Asian nations, were among those sending relief supplies and rescue workers to support recovery efforts in earthquake-hit areas, home to some 28 million people, last week.
