Rabat, April 22 (QNA) - The Ministry of Culture is participating in the 30th Rabat International Book Fair, organized by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication.

The Ministry of Culture is showcasing a selection of its own publications, along with those of four Qatari publishing houses, in its pavilion.

This comes as part of its support for Qatari publishers and providing them with the opportunity to showcase their work at international cultural forums.

The Ministry of Culture affirmed its commitment to participating in international book fairs, as they are important platforms for presenting Qatari intellectual production to a wide readership, highlighting the ongoing development of the country's publishing industry, and building cultural partnerships and enhancing cooperation with specialists in the fields of culture and the publishing industry.

Director of Libraries and Doha International Book Fair Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain said in a statement that the Ministry of Culture's participation in the Rabat International Book Fair aims to highlight aspects of Qatari literature and culture.

The participation in the Fair features the display of the Ministry's diverse and new publications in various fields of knowledge, including novels, law, and social and human sciences, in addition to the display of distinguished children's and young adult books.

He emphasized that the Ministry's goal in participating in the Fair is also to build new relationships with those working in the cultural and publishing industry, in addition to showcasing the intellectual output of Qatari publishing houses.

It is worth noting that the 30th Rabat International Book Fair, held from Apr. 18 to 27, is being attended by 756 publishers, including 292 direct publishers and 464 representative exhibitors, representing 51 countries.

This year, the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates is the guest of honor at the Rabat International Book Fair, which offers a wide range of more than 100,000 titles covering all fields of knowledge and various literary genres. (QNA)
