Qatar's Al Ahli SC Win West Asian Athletics Championship

Doha, April 10 (QNA) - Qatar's Al Ahli SC won the West Asian Athletics Clubs Championship Thursday, achieving the highest number of points in the tournament held at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar Sports Club.

More than 400 male and female athletes from 22 clubs representing 11 West Asian countries participated.

Al Ahli Club won the championship title after taking first place with 451 points. Qatar's Al Arabi came in second with 292 points, while Saudi Arabia's Al Ula Club came in third with 172 points. Saudi Arabia's Al-Khaleej came in fourth with 149 points. Following them were Iraq's Nineveh Club with 76 points, Iraq's Peshmerga with 72 points, Kuwait's Al-Qadisiyah Club with 58 points, Kuwait's Salwa Al-Sabah with 57.5 points, Kuwait's Al Fatat Club with 34 points, and Kuwait's Kazma Club with 33.5 points, finishing 10th in the tournament.

The championship concluded after four days of competition, comprising 24 races and events for both men and women.

The results were calculated based on points according to the West Asian Athletics Federation regulations.

Following the award ceremony, Mohammed Issa Al-Fadala, President of the Qatar Athletics Federation, Mohammed Issa Al Fadala expressed his happiness with the championship's administrative and technical success, and its achievement of its competitive objectives for the participating athletes.

The President of the Qatar Athletics Federation congratulated Al Ahli Club for their organizational efforts and winning the title, Al Arabi Club for their second-place finish, and Al Ula Saudi Club for their third-place finish. (QNA)
