Organizing Committee of West Asian Clubs Athletics Championship to Hold Technical Meeting on April 6
Doha, March 31 (QNA) - The Supreme Organizing Committee for the West Asian Clubs Athletics Championship has set April 6 as the date for the technical meeting in Doha.
The meeting will present the championship regulations for track and field events for participating athletes, along with arrangements for the timekeepers and refereeing teams that will oversee the championship. The meeting will be attended by a representative of the West Asian Athletics Association and representatives of the technical and administrative bodies, and coaches.
In a previous meeting, the committee approved the participation of more than 300 male and female athletes from 13 countries representing the West Asian Association, who will compete for more than 66 gold medals and the same number at the silver and bronze levels in track and field competitions from April 7-10 on the field and track of Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar Club.
The 2nd edition of the championship represents a new challenge for Qatari athletics to continue its achievements at the regional level, while the championship has been included in the global calendar by obtaining the (E) classification from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), which means that numbers are approved in the races for male and female athletes.
Delegations from participating countries are expected to arrive on April 5 and 6.
The 2nd edition of the championship is being held under the organizational supervision of Al Ahli Sports Club, following the example of the first edition, which was held in Doha under the administrative supervision of Qatar Sports Club. The Qatar Athletics Federation has been keen to grant organizing opportunities to clubs in all editions approved by the West Asian Association in Qatar. (QNA)
