Doha, December 08 (QNA) - Legal experts, government officials and arbitration specialists gathered in Doha on Monday for the second Doha Arbitration Day—a conference focused on emerging trends in international arbitration and their impact on the legal and commercial environment in Qatar and the wider region.

The event was attended by HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, alongside representatives from judicial bodies, government institutions, universities and the legal profession.

Participants stressed the importance of strengthening capacity-building, sharing expertise and developing an integrated and effective arbitration system in Qatar. They also underlined the need for continued institutional cooperation to reinforce the country's dispute-resolution landscape.

Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar International Court, Faisal bin Rashid Al Sahouti, said the conference plays a key role in promoting a culture of arbitration in the country and encouraging legal professionals to join the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

He added that hosting the second edition of Doha Arbitration Day aligns with efforts by the Ministry of Justice, the Qatar International Court and other relevant bodies to create a modern and advanced arbitration ecosystem that boosts confidence in the investment climate and strengthens Qatar's position as a regional and international hub for dispute resolution.

The conference concluded with the graduation of the first cohort of Ministry of Justice employees admitted to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The step, which follows the election of new members to the CIArb Qatar Branch Committee chaired by Dr Saad bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi, signals growing national investment in developing specialised talent in arbitration and dispute settlement.
