Three Turkish Security Personnel Killed in Operation Against ISIS
Ankara, December 29 (QNA) - Three Turkish police personnel were killed and eight others were wounded on Monday during a security operation against a group of ISIS elements in Yalova Province in northwest Turkiye.
Addressing a press conference to announce the details of the operation, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that six ISIS elements were killed during the operation.
The security operation started at dawn today, with clashes erupting between the police and ISIS elements, Yerlikaya clarified, before adding that all these elements were holding Turkish nationality.
On the other hand, the Turkish minister announced that 138 individuals suspected to have been connected with the ISIS group had been apprehended, emphasizing that authorities embarked on enforcing legal measures against 97 others throughout the past 30 days.
He further clarified that, as part of operations against the ISIS group, the Turkish authorities conducted 108 security operations in 15 provinces throughout December 2025. (QNA)
