Beijing, December 26 (QNA) - The size of China’s core artificial intelligence industry exceeded one trillion yuan in 2025 ($142 billion), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said today in a statement.

The ministry confirmed its intention to strengthen the development and expansion of emerging and future industries, while intensifying support for research and development in the field of artificial intelligence, thereby consolidating innovation as a key driver of industrial growth.

The ministry projected that the total value added of major industrial enterprises would grow by 5.9 percent year-on-year in 2025.

Official data, from January to November of the current year, showed that the value added of major enterprises operating in the high-tech manufacturing sector, as well as advanced equipment manufacturing companies, increased by 9.2 percent and 9.3 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
