Tripoli, December 22 (QNA) - Libyan security forces arrested 33 illegal immigrants of various African nationalities Monday as they attempted to infiltrate the city of Ghadames in western Libya.

Libyan security sources reported that the immigrants were handed over to the relevant authorities for processing.

They added that this operation is part of the ongoing efforts by security forces to combat illegal immigration and enhance security and stability in the region.

Libya is a transit point for irregular migrants seeking to reach Europe. (QNA)
