Katara Continues to Shine with Grandiose Public Events Spotlighting Diverse Cultural Scene During FIFA Arab Cup
Doha, December 02 (QNA) - Amid vibrant atmospheres and record turnout, Katara Cultural Village opened on Tuesday the second Divine Creativity Exhibition at building 24.
The village continues to present a wide array of cultural and artistic events concomitantly with the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 tournament, amid a striking public attendance, positioning it as a major hub for folks and visitors from a variety of nations.
The Expo showcases a collection of some of the rarest natural formations, foremost among them a rare Arabian agate specimen, whose remarkable structure unfolds in a scene that reflects an unparalleled natural wonder.
The stone is displayed on a base of rare apple-green jade, dated to more than 250 million years, giving the piece a distinctive character that arrests visitors with the splendour of creation and the diversity of its geological forms.
The exhibition brings together natural masterpieces formed over millions of years through volcanic and geological processes; most of the pieces on display date back over 25 million years, adorned with natural patterns and mineral formations on rare gemstones that resemble exquisite works of art painted by a masterful hand.
Concurrent programming includes the opening of a fine-arts exhibition at the cultural center's building 19, featuring 17 artists and 47 diverse paintings, alongside a postal-stamps football heritage exhibition in building 22, drawing enthusiasts of sports history and philately.
In the southern wing of the cultural district, the 15th Katara Traditional Dhow Festival gets underway, attracting broad Arab and international participation.
Director of Marketing and Communications at the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club (SIMSC), Hessa Yousef Al Hosani, highlighted that SIMSC is representing the Emirate of Sharjah by taking part in this festival, through several outstanding entities, including the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and the Sharjah Archaeology Authority, alongside the contributions of researcher Mustafa Al Fardan with selected artifacts from the traditional diving craft.
SIMSC showcases a collection of antiquities intimately linked to the sea and the maritime heritage of the Emirate of Sharjah, reflecting its steadfast commitment to showcasing the maritime identity and rich heritage to the audience at Katara, Al Hosani noted.
In addition, the Village waterfront is incredibly attracting visitors through a diverse package of recreational and cultural events that cast grandiose atmospheres on the region, in terms of open artistic shows and musical performances, as well as interactive experiences for children.
The waterfront features an integrated experience with a combination of entertainment and culture, and relaxing, positioning itself as a primary destination for visitors and families through the events underway in Katara.
