Doha, December 18 (QNA) - FIFA has cancelled the third-place play-off at the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates due to adverse weather conditions.

The match at Khalifa International Stadium was abandoned after a goalless first half, with the referee taking the decision amid thunderstorms in the area.

In a statement, FIFA said the cancellation was prompted by weather conditions and thunderstorm activity around the stadium. It added that while the venue remained fully operational and the pitch was in good condition, the decision was taken to ensure the safety of players, fans and staff.

FIFA said its relevant committee would determine the third-place finisher at a later date. (QNA)
