Doha, December 15 (QNA) - The Doha Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) represents a consequential platform to share expertise and reinforce international cooperation in the field of combating corruption, Head of the Iraqi Federal Commission of Integrity Dr. Mohammed Ali Al Lami underlined to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Having praised the Qatari organization of this conference, Al Lami added that the event offers an opportunity to review the best global anti-corruption practices and experiences, as well as deliberate on effective strategies both on the national and global stages.

Al Lami stated that he looks forward to having conclusive outcomes from this convention to advance anti-corruption mechanisms globally that literally foster the culture of transparency and integrity in all States Parties.

The conference vividly constitutes an opportunity to launch strategic dialogues to beef up international collaboration and concert joint efforts to combat corruption, thereby backing the national efforts of each country and fostering confidence between governments and local communities, he outlined.

Finally, Al Lami described the Iraq-Qatar cooperation as excellent on all stages, particularly in the areas of sharing expertise, capacity-building, restoring funds, and cracking down on those involved in corruption cases. (QNA)
