Doha, November 09 (QNA) - Qatar Museums signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Oman Across Ages Museum to enhance cooperation in the field of museums and the preservation of national heritage.
This cooperation will encompass several areas, most notably the exchange of scientific and practical expertise to achieve the highest standards of excellence and quality, and the sharing of ideas and initiatives related to cultural projects and events.
The MoU was signed by CEO of Qatar Museums Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi, and Director General of Oman Across Ages Museum Al Yaqdhan Abdullah Al Harthi, at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.
It also includes provisions for organizing joint training courses in various fields, including events and marketing, exhibitions, visitor services and reception, conservation and preservation, volunteer work, education, scientific research, and translation.
Furthermore, the memorandum of understanding also includes hosting and organizing joint events, exhibitions, conferences, and seminars; exchanging information and expertise on policies and practices adopted by both parties; organizing reciprocal visits for specialists and experts; and exchanging research and studies related to the use of modern technologies and the development of educational media. It also includes the exchange of exhibits between the two parties.
It emphasizes the importance of strengthening heritage preservation and developing museum expertise, highlighting efforts made to preserve historical and cultural heritage and present it to future generations in innovative and effective ways. It also reflects the support for the close bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar in the fields of heritage and culture.
It is worth noting that Qatar Museums is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and has launched the "Evolution Nation" campaign to mark the occasion. This 18-month campaign will celebrate Qatar's cultural journey over the past fifty years, since the establishment of the National Museum of Qatar in 1975.
The campaign highlights Qatar's cultural milestones and future aspirations through the "Qatar Creates" initiative, a national movement that solidifies Qatar's position as a global hub for art, culture, and creativity. (QNA)
