Ankara, November 7 (QNA) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has stated that the Palestinian side has demonstrated a constructive approach in advancing the peace process in Gaza, while Israel is failing to fulfill its obligations and does not believe in the fundamental objectives of the ceasefire.

This came during a joint press conference today with his Romanian counterpart, Iona Toiu, in Ankara.

Fidan explained that the efforts exerted to return all prisoners and bodies to Israel are among the most prominent indicators of the Palestinian side's constructive stance.

He added: "In contrast, Israel continues to fail to fulfill its obligations regarding the delivery of humanitarian aid."

He noted that trucks carrying humanitarian aid are not reaching Gaza, and the basic needs of Palestinians in Gaza remain unmet.

He emphasized Turkey's rejection of the continuation of this situation, reiterating the call for urgent and necessary measures to deliver aid.

He noted that a draft resolution on Gaza is to be submitted to the UN Security Council, and that Turkiye is sharing its views and contributions on this draft with the relevant parties.

Fidan said that the countries that met with US President Donald Trump in New York consulted on this issue and transformed this into diplomatic activity.

Fidan also confirmed that they are discussing the issue of Gaza's reconstruction with international partners after the situation there improves, expressing his hope that an initiative will be implemented that will promote peace in Gaza and enable reconstruction and the restoration of some aspects of life that Palestinians have lost.

He stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza, stating that the situation is "fragile" because "the Israeli administration and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu do not believe in the fundamental objectives of the ceasefire."

He added: "Nevertheless, the Palestinian side is adhering to the terms of the ceasefire with great maturity. They handed over the prisoners and bodies in their possession to the Israeli side and demonstrated their good faith."(QNA)
