Doha, November 06 (QNA) - HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi emphasized that family represents the basic pillar for achieving sustainable development and strengthening social cohesion, stressing that preserving and protecting the family unit has become a human and societal necessity in light of the accelerating global economic and social transformations.

This came during Her Excellency's remarks at the side event entitled "family as pillar of social development and integration: a strategic approach to a sustainable future," which was organized by the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Turkiye as part of the activities of the Second World Summit for Social Development held in Doha.

Her Excellency indicated that the family represents the first natural environment for raising generations and promoting the values ​​of belonging and solidarity, noting that demographic changes, declining fertility rates, increasing individualistic lifestyles, in addition to global crises and conflicts, are all challenges that call for strengthening policies that place the family at the heart of development plans.

In this context, Her Excellency explained that the State of Qatar adopts an integrated approach that places the family at the heart of national development, stressing that Doha's hosting of the International Year of the Family Conference in October came as a confirmation of the Qatar's firm commitment to strengthening the role of the family in achieving social cohesion and confronting global challenges that affect its stability and unity.

Her Excellency also noted that the Ministry of Social Development and Family launched the National Social Development Strategy (2025-2030) under the slogan "From Care to Empowerment," which constitutes a strategic framework for developing social policies and linking them to the national goals of Qatar Vision 2030, ensuring the strengthening of family cohesion, the empowerment of individuals, and the protection of vulnerable groups.

HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi indicated that this strategy includes innovative programs to support the family, reflecting the state's commitment to strengthening its role at the heart of the development process, stressing that preserving and empowering the family is the cornerstone for achieving sustainable social development.
