Chisinau, November 29 (QNA) - Authorities in Moldova announced Saturday that they had tracked two Russian unmanned aircraft infiltrating their airspace in a third-of-its-kind incident over nine days.

This infiltration triggered the closure of the country's airspace for one hour and 10 minutes, following orders from the Civil Aviation Authority, as it posed a perilous threat to aviation safety, the Moldovan Ministry of Interior reported.

The Moldovan Ministry of Defence stated that the two unmanned aircraft, identified as Russian‑made "Gerbera" drones, evaded detection by Moldovan radar systems. However, Ukrainian border authorities confirmed their incursion.

The statement added that no debris, wreckage, or any elements posing a threat to the civilian population were detected. The drones subsequently exited Moldovan airspace for good, heading deep into Ukrainian territory.

The Ministry stressed that it strongly condemns these unlawful and dangerous acts, which jeopardized civilian flights and lives. (QNA)
