Trump Hints at Imminent Land Operations Against Drug Traffickers in Venezuela
Washington, November 28 (QNA) - US President Donald Trump hinted that the United States is preparing to shift its crackdown on suspected Venezuelan drug traffickers to land operations, telling service members during a video call that efforts to stop drug smuggling by land would begin "very soon."
"In recent weeks, you’ve been working to deter Venezuelan drug traffickers, of which there are many. Of course, there aren’t too many coming in by sea anymore," Trump told service members during the call.
"You probably noticed that people aren't wanting to deliver by sea anymore, and we'll be starting to stop them by land also," the president continued. "The land is easier, but that’s going to start very soon."
"We warn them: Stop sending poison to our country," Trump added.
In another context, President Trump told members of the US military that his administration had requested additional B-2 Spirit stealth bombers manufactured by Northrop Grumman, following the use of this type of aircraft in US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites earlier this year. (QNA)
