Doha, November 25 (QNA) - Executive Director of Incubation & Venture Capital Investment (QDB) Mohammed Al Emadi affirmed that Qatari society is innovative and technology-driven.

He made the remarks today during a session at the MWC Doha 2025 conference, which began today and continues until tomorrow.

Al Emadi said that Qatar Development Bank aims to build a business ecosystem, enable success, develop capabilities, and create obstacle-free pathways for entrepreneurs.

He added that they had built a fully integrated pathway for founders beginning with the idea stage within a business incubator, moving through acceleration, and ultimately reaching project financing and international exports.

He noted that QDB has launched 25 cohorts through its incubation and acceleration programs, graduating more than 600 startups.

He pointed out that QDB’s investment portfolio began supporting bold ideas in 2017, adding that they have evolved into active builders of the business ecosystem capable of taking risks. Today, QDB’s investment arm is recognized as the fourth most active venture capital investor in the Middle East and North Africa region, having provided more than $95 million in financing for technology projects.

He said that QDB received around 5,300 funding applications within the Start-Up Qatar Investment Program, which has supported more than 35 companies with cumulative investments exceeding $35 million (QR 130 million).

The Executive Director also highlighted the various financing programs and initiatives launched by Qatar Development Bank to support startups in Qatar.

He invited companies present at the conference to invest in the State of Qatar and use it as a platform for expanding into global markets with the support of Qatar Development Bank. (QNA
