Doha, November 25 (QNA) - Experts and government officials presented Qatar's digital roadmap across multiple sectors during a panel at MWC25 Doha, underscoring the role of innovation and smart technologies in boosting efficiency, sustainability and service quality.
The session, titled "Digital Roadmap for Smart Sectors," was held as part of the Smart Cities Expo Doha, a two-day event examining how technological advances can reshape urban environments in the Middle East into more sustainable and livable spaces.
Participants included Hind Saleh Hassan, head of quality at the Ministry of Municipality; Noura Al Dosari, director of the Digital Transformation Office at the Ministry of Transport; Barbara Zimmer, director of digital experience and products at Qatar Tourism; and Himanshu Kakkar, senior expert in digital health applications at the Ministry of Public Health.
Speakers noted that digital transformation is accelerating across vital sectors such as tourism, healthcare, transport and logistics. They emphasized that modern technologies are becoming central to improving service quality and enhancing daily user experiences. Institutions are developing interactive platforms, personalized digital services and systems that integrate geographic data to make information more accessible.
Participants highlighted the growing role of smart applications in enhancing user experiences across sectors. They noted that work is underway to develop digital platforms built on innovative interactive methods, designed to offer personalized services. These platforms are being integrated with geographic and spatial data, enabling users to explore destinations and access information more easily.
In healthcare, efforts are focused on building integrated data systems to ensure sustainable and effective patient care. Work is underway to establish a connected digital infrastructure that unifies health information, enabling more accurate diagnoses and better treatment.
Officials also highlighted the importance of cross-sector integration, pointing to smart transport systems and traffic prediction tools as critical supports for areas including health and tourism. Artificial intelligence, they said, is increasingly essential to improving operational efficiency and reducing human error.
Looking ahead, participants predicted that Qatar will move beyond digital transformation toward deeper coordination and alignment of systems across sectors. Linked data and digital infrastructure records, they added, will open new opportunities for decision-making and strengthen integration across the country's key industries. (QNA)
