Doha, November 24 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani inaugurated Monday the Qatar Travel Mart 2025, with the participation of 300 exhibitors from 60-plus countries.

The exhibition, convened at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, affords an important platform for forging partnerships, sharing perspectives, and exploring tourism destinations.

Following the inauguration, Sheikh Faisal toured the various pavilions and was briefed on the services and investment opportunities in the tourism and travel sectors showcased by the participating entities.

HE Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chair of the Board of Directors of Visit Qatar Saad bin Ali Al Kharji said this event has become an enduring annual landmark that gathers industry experts and global partners in the travel sector, casting light on Qatar’s continued growth in the tourism sphere.

Last year's edition was a consequential event that brought together over 300 exhibitors from more than 60 nations. Its activities spanned an area of 15,000 square meters, and today, returning in a new form and with greater ambition, he pointed out.

Al Kharji further highlighted that the participation of Visit Qatar as a strategic partner in this event translates its steadfast commitment to supporting the sector’s growth and reinforcing Qatar’s standing as a global tourism hub.

He further noted that this year's mart holds broader horizons for cooperation and sharing expertise, as well as exploring business opportunities among partners in the tourism sector.

Visit Qatar's pavilion is characterized by hosting a wide spectrum of key partners in culture and entertainment, along with business and sports tourism, operating in full unison and harmonization with a strategy of diversifying tourism showcases and strengthening Qatar's readiness to welcome visitors from a wide diversity of global markets, Al Kharji underlined.

He affirmed that this year’s program casts light on the strength of Qatar’s tourism product and the breadth of its accrued assets - from heritage and cultural experiences to family-oriented and entertainment offerings, from world-class sporting capabilities to medical tourism, culminating in a cruise-ship season that has been expanding markedly year after year.

The strength of Qatar's tourism sector is rooted in the close partnerships it proudly maintains with domestic, regional, and global institutions, as well as its partners among tour operators, hotels, and economic entities, he outlined.

Al Kharji further elaborated that at Qatar Tourism, there is an enduring commitment to proceeding with its collaboration to tout new experiences, support professional programs, and reinforce Qatar’s presence on the global travel map.

He called on the participants to explore the innovative ideas the mart will showcase in the days ahead, alongside novel success stories, in addition to forging partnerships that help chart the tourism future in Qatar and beyond.

The first day of the mart witnessed the participation of thousands of industry specialists and a wide array of exhibitors and international delegations, while the second day is expected to feature a suite of activities designed to deepen collaboration and spotlight emerging opportunities within the sector.

Participating delegations will likewise present tailored cultural showcases and media briefings on tourism destinations, aiming to provide an in-depth perspective on investment opportunities and forthcoming tourism initiatives.

The activities of this mart will continue until Nov. 26, providing trade visitors, entertainment experts, and culture enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to explore the future of the travel sector, discover diverse global destinations, and engage in a wide-ranging series of specialized discussions.
