Kuwait City, November 24 (QNA) - The Kuwaiti stock market closed slightly higher on Monday, with the benchmark All-Share Index edging up 3.23 points, or 0.04%, to finish at 8,820.69.
Trading activity remained robust, with 370.6 million shares changing hands across 24,586 transactions, worth 119.9 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately USD 366.8 million).
The Main Market Index slipped 24.50 points, or 0.30%, to 8,230.40. The segment saw 157.3 million shares traded through 10,571 deals, valued at 24.5 million dinars (around USD 74.9 million).
In contrast, the Premier Market Index gained 10.16 points, or 0.11%, closing at 9,403.32. The index recorded 213.2 million shares traded in 14,015 transactions, worth 95.4 million dinars (about USD 291.9 million).
The Main 50 Index also moved higher, adding 11.08 points, or 0.13%, to settle at 8,362.42. It saw 72.2 million shares traded across 5,344 transactions, with a turnover of 14.6 million dinars (roughly USD 44.6 million).
Analysts attributed the mixed performance across indices to selective buying in blue-chip stocks on the Premier Market, set against more cautious trade in the Main Market segment. (QNA)
