Doha, November 24 (QNA) - Palestine football squad Coach Ihab Abu Jazar said he looks forward to securing victory and qualification in the upcoming match against Libya on Tuesday at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in the preliminary round of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
Palestine squad's preparations are quite thorough and strategically designed, following two friendly matches against the Basque Country and Catalonia, which played a pivotal role in having the squad in standby ahead of the preliminary round, Jazar said.
He added that the primary objective is to snag the finals, noting that the squad aspires to contest the opening match against the host nation Qatar, contingent on a successful outcome against Libya.
Meanwhile, Hamed Hamdan, a key player of the Palestine squad, highlighted that all players are on high alert to achieve victory and secure their ticket to the group stage.
He stressed the intensity of the match, considering the opponent's competitive level, affirming that the entire team will exert their utmost effort to achieve the intended result.
Conversely, Senegalese Head Coach of the Libya squad Aliou Cisse said he is confident in his players' capability to perform well and crown their efforts with a victory to ensure qualification.
This cup is a crucial competition in terms of the exceptional organizational standards showcased by Qatar, serving as a strong incentive for all teams participating in the preliminary round to maximize their performance to secure passage to the finals, noted Cisse.
Talal Farhat, a player of the Libya squad, affirmed that the match against Palestine will be challenging and decisive, leaving no room for errors, noting that concentration and delivering an exceptional team performance are essential to secure the ticket to the finals.
Farhat further pointed out that their match preparations were phenomenal, highlighting the high level of enthusiasm among the players to navigate this challenge and guarantee participation in the group stage, thereby reinforcing the competitive spirit and strategic readiness of the squad. (QNA)
