Arab Cup FIFA Qatar 2025: Qatari Striker: Next Edition Will Be More Successful and Competitive
Doha, November 21 (QNA) - Qatari national football team striker Almoez Ali has confirmed his team's readiness to compete in the Arab Cup FIFA Qatar 2025, which will be held from December 1 to 18, with the participation of 16 teams.
Almoez emphasized the difficulty of the competition awaiting the participating teams in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
In his statements to the official website of the Arab Cup Organizing Committee, he said: "This year's edition of the Arab Cup will be the most competitive and will remain etched in the memories of the players and fans."
The Qatari national team's all-time top scorer, who has scored 60 goals in 123 international matches, explained the importance of his team playing on home soil and in front of their fans.
He said: "When we play in Qatar, we feel the energy and passion of the fans every moment, which is an inspiring motivation for us. I expect the next edition of the Arab Cup to achieve resounding success, surpassing the previous edition in every way."
Almoez Ali expressed his pride in wearing the Qatari national team jersey and representing his country in the tournament, noting that he sees every match as an opportunity to repay the fans and his family, with a strong sense of responsibility to live up to the expectations placed upon him and his teammates.
Almoez Ali, a graduate of the Aspire Academy and part of a distinguished generation of Qatari stars who recently qualified for the 2026 World Cup, contributed to Qatar's two AFC Asian Cup titles in 2019 and 2023, establishing himself as one of the most prominent and influential players in the region.
The Qatari striker noted that the Arab Cup is a major tournament with a special character, bringing together national teams from countries that share a common history and culture.
It also enjoys significant attention from Arab fans who gather in Qatar to support their teams, in a celebration that embodies the spirit of brotherhood and unity between players and supporters.
Almoez Ali highlighted Qatar's commitment to hosting world-class tournaments, emphasizing that since hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar has demonstrated exceptional efficiency in hosting global events, with remarkable growth in its sports industry capabilities and its ability to organize major sporting events.

The Arab Cup features 16 teams, nine of which qualified automatically as the highest-ranked teams according to FIFA.
The remaining seven spots will be contested by 14 teams in a series of qualifying matches to be held before the tournament kicks off on November 25 and 26 in Doha, the Qatari capital.
The Arab Cup matches will be played in six World Cup stadiums that previously hosted matches during the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar: Al Bayt Stadium, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, Education City Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Lusail Stadium, and Stadium 974. (QNA)
