Kuwait Stock Market Closes Lower Amid Broad Declines

Kuwait, November 18 (QNA) - The Kuwait stock market closed in negative territory on Tuesday, with all major indices posting declines amid heavy trading.
The main All-Share Index fell by 63.52 points, or 0.72%, ending the session at 8788.93 points. Trading was active, with 722.4 million shares changing hands through 38,180 transactions, valued at KWD 128.7 million (approximately USD 392.5 million).
The Main Market Index dropped 66.90 points (0.80%) to close at 8313.60 points, driven by brisk activity in lower-priced stocks. A total of 540.7 million shares were traded on this market segment via 25,223 transactions, with a turnover of KWD 62.6 million (USD 191 million).
The Premier Market Index, which includes the largest listed companies, also moved lower, shedding 65.81 points, or 0.70%, to reach 9341.82 points. Trading on this segment amounted to 181.6 million shares across 12,957 deals, worth KWD 66 million (USD 201.3 million).
Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index - which tracks the 50 most liquid companies in the Main Market - recorded the sharpest drop, losing 80.89 points (0.95%) to close at 8405.04 points. Turnover on this index reached 25.9 KWD million (USD79 million) from 168.4 million shares traded in 10,794 transactions. (QNA)
