Jordan Calls on Int. Community to Press Israel to De-escalate in West Bank
Amman, November 18 (QNA) - Jordan called on the international community, Tuesday, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities in compelling Israel to halt its dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank and the racist statements made by its officials.
In a statement, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for upholding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region.
The ministry condemnedآ the incendiary remarks made by Israel's extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, which incite against Palestinian leadership and reject the establishment of a Palestinian state, a clear undermining of efforts toward the two-state solution.
It reaffirmed its absolute rejection of the continued racist and inflammatory statements made by this extremist Israeli government's ministers and officials against the Palestinian people, warning of the consequences of such actions, which threaten to further inflame the situation and endanger the security and stability of the region.
