Qatar University Hosts 2025 Alumni Gathering of QU, Sharjah University
Doha, November 17 (QNA) - The Qatar University (QU) Alumni Association hosted the alumni gathering of Qatar University and the University of Sharjah, aimed at strengthening ties between graduates of both universities and reinforcing professional communication channels between them.
The gathering was attended by HE Chair of the QU Alumni Association, Sheikh Faleh bin Nasser Al-Thani, HE President of Qatar University, Dr. Omar Al Ansari, Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the State of Qatar, Rashid Abdulrahman Al Ali, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs at the University of Sharjah, Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, and Director of the Alumni Relations Office, Buthaina Al Lannaqwi, alongside a number of alumni from both universities.
HE Sheikh Faleh stated that this gathering serves as a vital platform that enhances communication and the exchange of expertise between the two academic institutions. It provides an opportunity to highlight success stories, discuss the challenges faced by alumni, and draw lessons that support excellence and innovation in various scientific and professional fields, including education, scientific research, industry, engineering, medicine, media, and other domains.
He explained that such meetings form a foundation for building sustainable pathways for collaboration and development, whether at the individual level through refining skills and enhancing communication, or at the institutional level through strategic partnerships that contribute to serving the community and advancing development and innovation.
For his part, Rashid Abdulrahman commended the efforts of both universities in organizing an event that reflects the strength of academic relations between the two institutions.
He affirmed that the fraternal ties between the State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates constitute a distinguished model of cooperation across various fields, particularly in education, scientific research, and human capital development, contributing to the advancement of knowledge between the two countries.
Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj stated that this gathering embodies the spirit of collaboration and academic communication between the two institutions and represents an important opportunity to exchange expertise, discuss best practices, and highlight alumni achievements in various scientific and professional fields.
For her part, Al Lannaqwi noted that this gathering reflects the depth of ties between the two institutions and their shared belief in the role of alumni in developing society, advancing progress, and creating impact. (QNA)
