Egypt, Sudan FMs Talk Support for Sudan Crisis Settlement
Cairo, November 17 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty discussed in a telephone conversation on Monday with his Sudanese counterpart Muhi Al Din Salem avenues for backing efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement for the Sudanese crisis.
During the conversation, Abdelaaty underscored Egypt's enduring position in supporting Sudan's unity, territorial integrity, and safeguarding its national institutions, expressing its utmost rejection of any attempts that aim to either disintegrate Sudan or compromise its stability, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry reported in a statement.
He reiterated condemnation of the atrocities and violations that have recently plagued Al Fashir city, underscoring Egypt's full solidarity with the Sudanese people in this critical period and backing the government led by Dr. Kamil Idris.
It is essential to establish an effective humanitarian corridor that ensures unhindered access of life-saving aid concurrently with the upsurge in relief support and enhancing collaboration with the United Nations, African Union, and relief agencies, Abdelaaty noted.
He stressed the importance of concerted regional and global efforts to support a comprehensive ceasefire and create the conditions that help launch an inclusive political process. (QNA)
