Singapore, November 14 (QNA) - King Abdullah II of Jordan and President of Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam met today in Singapore and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and the latest regional developments.
During the talks, King Abdullah II praised the partnership between Jordan and Singapore within the framework of humanitarian response efforts in Gaza, carried out through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and the Restoring Hope initiative, noting the need to continue these efforts.
The two sides exchanged views on the most significant developments in the Middle East. The Jordanian monarch stressed the importance of intensifying international efforts to restore comprehensive calm and supporting the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, emphasizing the necessity for all parties to abide by the agreement to end the war in all its phases.
He also warned of the dangers posed by the continuing unilateral measures against Palestinians in the West Bank and the attacks on holy sites in Jerusalem.
The talks also addressed the overall situation in Syria and Lebanon and the importance of supporting their efforts to safeguard their security, stability, and territorial sovereignty. (QNA)
