Doha, November 13 (QNA) - The Qatari national beach volleyball team begins its World Championship campaign in Adelaide this Saturday with a match against Cuba, as part of the tournament's preliminary round.
The event, which kicks off Friday and runs through November 23, features 48 men's teams divided into 12 groups.
Qatar, led by Olympic medalists Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, tops Group 10 alongside Austria, Switzerland, and Cuba. The team faces Switzerland on Sunday and Austria on Monday.
Having climbed to second in the FIVB world rankings with 7,480 points, Qatar enters the championship with strong momentum.
The duo has collected eight gold medals this season and previously secured bronze at Tokyo 2020 and fourth place at Paris 2024, underscoring the nation's rise in global beach volleyball. (QNA)
