Doha, November 12 (QNA) - Al Shaqab, affiliated with Qatar Foundation (QF), wrapped up all preparations for Al Shaqab League 2025/2026 - League 01 set to be held in Longines Indoor Arena from November 14 to 15.
The equestrian center signed a strategic partnership on Wednesday with Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB), which will serve as the league's official sponsor.
Al Shaqab was represented at the signing ceremony by its Deputy Executive Director, Khalid Al Hitmi, while QIIB was represented by its Deputy CEO, Jamal Al Jamal. The ceremony was also attended by several officials from both sides.
Al Hitmi stated that the partnership with QIIB reflects a deep belief in the importance of national collaborations to support equestrian in Qatar.
The sport is an authentic representation of Qatar's culture and heritage. It embodies Al Shaqab's vision in elevating equestrian locally and internationally, he added.
Al Hitmi praised QIIB's support of this journey and affirmed their aspirations through this partnership to strengthen the presence of Qatari equestrian in international arenas and support riders to achieve further success that best represents Qatar's global sport position.
On his part, Al Jamal said that the partnership comes as part of a shared responsibility towards society and the country. The sport represents a proud legacy and a true cultural symbol. QIIB and Al Shaqab look forward to contributing to the sport and pushing it to international levels.
He expressed their hope that this partnership further supports the development of equestrian and riders at all levels, as well as strengthens the chances of taking rising talents to international levels.
Participation in Al Shaqab League is open to all members of Al Shaqab Riding Academy, as well as riders from outside of Al Shaqab.
The rounds are being held in accordance with the rules and regulations of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), with the exception of the preparatory rounds.
The league is a distinctive platform that sees both the development of equestrian and global competitiveness. It is open to all riders, from beginners to professionals. It provides an opportunity to gain experience and further develop skills in a professional and comprehensive environment.
Al Shaqab League will include four main rounds. League 01 will be held on November 14 and 15, League 02 on December 26 and 27, League 03 on April 17 and 18, 2026, while the Final Championship will be held on May 21 to 23, 2026. (QNA)
