Mexico President Voices Confidence in Her Government's Ability to Seal Favorable Trade Agreement with US
Mexico City, October 5 (QNA) - Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Sunday expressed confidence in her government's ability to reach a favorable trade agreement with the US and other countries.
She noted that her government will present in the coming weeks the progress of "Made in Mexico" projects to develop electric cars, semiconductors, satellites, and drones, as part of a plan that aligns with the changing trade environment.
Sheinbaum added that the plan includes the development of a local artificial intelligence laboratory.
Mexico, the second-largest economy in Latin America, has largely avoided the impact of tariffs imposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump thanks to the free trade agreement with the United States and Canada, which will be reviewed next year.
Meanwhile, Mexico also announced the imposition of a series of tariffs on countries with which it has no trade agreements, particularly China. (QNA)
