Doha, October 04 (QNA) - President of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation, Ali Al Hitmi, said Saturday that Doha's hosting of elite international gymnasts for pre-World Championship training camps underscores Qatar's growing stature in global sports and the excellence of its athletic infrastructure.

Speaking to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Hitmi expressed pride in welcoming national teams from Brazil, Armenia, Jordan, and Syria to train in Doha ahead of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, set to take place in Indonesia later this month. He described their presence as a testament to Qatar's world-class facilities, designed to help athletes reach peak performance.

Al Hitmi emphasized the significance of Qatar's participation in the upcoming championship, voicing hope that the national team will deliver a strong and respectable showing on the global stage.

He added that the federation's hosting of these camps reflects its commitment to fostering international sports cooperation and building bridges between athletes and coaches worldwide. The camps also serve as a high-level preparation platform ahead of major global competitions.

Qatari gymnasts expressed confidence and readiness for the championship. Rakan Al Harith said the camp had greatly enhanced his preparation, while Salma Nasser shared her ambition to achieve a personal best.

The training sessions, held in Doha's state-of-the-art gymnastics halls, were marked by a spirited atmosphere and strong international participation. Athletes benefited from cross-cultural exchanges and technical enrichment, raising the overall level of performance.

Doha's hosting of these camps further highlights Qatar's prominent role on the global sports map. Over the past decade, the country has built a sophisticated sports infrastructure, including modern training halls equipped with cutting-edge technology and a secure, stable environment - making it a preferred destination for international federations and teams.

The Doha Gymnastics Hall is among the region's premier facilities, featuring advanced artistic gymnastics equipment, full fitness suites, and lecture rooms for coaches, creating an ideal setting for athlete development.

These efforts reflect Qatar's ambitious vision to establish itself as a global sports capital and strengthen its bid to host major international events, including the 2036 Olympic Games. Doha has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to organize world-class competitions to the highest international standards. (QNA)
