Manama, October 29 (QNA) - Qatar's Al Ahli defeated Bahrain's Khalidiya 2-1 on Wednesday in the fourth round of Group B matches of the AFC Champions League 2, played at the Muharraq Stadium in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
Idriss Fettouhi opened the scoring for Al Ahli in the 65th minute, before Omar Sekou sealed the win with a decisive goal in stoppage time. Mohammed Al Rumaihi netted Khalidiya's only goal in the 74th minute.
The victory lifted Al Ahli to six points, taking the top spot in the group, while Khalidiya remained second with five points.
The result marked Al Ahli's first win in the tournament after three consecutive draws - against Khalidiya in the first leg, Andijon of Uzbekistan away from home, and Arkadag of Turkmenistan in the previous round.
Al Ahli delivered an impressive performance, creating several scoring chances and maintaining attacking pressure throughout the match. Despite conceding an equalizer following a goalkeeping error by Marwan Sharif, the Qatari side showed resilience and regained control to secure all three points.
Al Ahli will next face Arkadag away on November 5, before concluding their group-stage campaign at home against Andijon on December 24 in Doha. (QNA)
