Doha, October 02 (QNA) - The Ministry of Culture is participating in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, which kicked off Thursday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and will continue until October 11. This participation reflects the ministry's commitment to highlighting Qatar's cultural presence and introducing local intellectual and literary production to a broad Arab and international audience.
This participation is an extension of Qatar's presence in Arab and international cultural exhibitions and forums. Through these events, the Ministry seeks to promote cultural exchange and openness to global experiences, contributing to building bridges of communication between creators, publishers, and those interested in cultural affairs.
In this regard, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture and Director of the Doha International Book Fair, said that the Ministry of Culture has been keen to participate in the Riyadh International Book Fair for years, reflecting its unwavering commitment to strengthening cultural presence regionally and internationally and highlighting Qatar's rich intellectual and creative output in the fields of literature, poetry, thought, and the arts.
He added that the event features distinguished participation of several entities from the State of Qatar, including the Qatar University Press and Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, enriching Qatar's cultural presence and reflecting its diversity and richness.
Al Buainain explained that the Qatari pavilion allows visitors to the Fair to browse a variety of literary and cultural publications and gain a closer insight into the Qatari cultural scene through books, intellectual works, and artworks.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Culture's participation in the Riyadh International Book Fair complements the state's efforts to support the Arab and international cultural scene, enhance cooperation with cultural institutions and publishing houses, and present a comprehensive image of Qatar as an incubator for creativity and a center for cultural and civilizational diversity.
