Washington, October 19 (QNA) - The American company Nvidia has unveiled the first Blackwell silicon wafer used for manufacturing chips.

The wafer was produced at a TSMC semiconductor fabrication plant in the United States, at a time when demand for artificial intelligence chips is accelerating.

The company said in a statement that the move bolsters the American supply chain and localizes the AI technology ecosystem, which will turn data into intelligence and secure US leadership in the age of artificial intelligence.

Nvidia added that the TSMC facility in Arizona will produce advanced technologies, including 2-nanometer, 3-nanometer, and 4-nanometer architecture chips, along with its A16 chips, which are essential for artificial intelligence applications, communications, and high-performance computing.

The recent period has seen a wave of major deals between AI companies and chip manufacturers, such as Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom, aimed at enhancing the capacity of data centers and meeting the increasing demand for these advanced technologies. (QNA)
