Doha, October 18 (QNA) - The Organizing Committee of the Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani Noble Qur'an Competition at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs announced the commencement of registration on Saturday for the 30th contest, in the full Qur'an branch for citizens and residents of both genders, as well as in the Categories Branch designated for male and female citizens.

The registration process will continue until Oct. 28, 2025, via the link: https://islam.qa/jassimReg. The conditions for participation in the full memorization of the Holy Qur'an, prior to the announcement of this competition, required that applicants be citizens or residents, Awqaf reported in a statement.

The statement outlined that those who have previously participated in the full memorization category for a specific narration and won are not entitled to participate again unless the narration is different or after an interruption of two consecutive years.

The ministry stated that tests for males will be conducted in all branches of the competition, which is set to launch on Nov. 8 at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque, while female tests will be conducted at the Women's Activity Building in Al Waab.

The full Qur'an branch comprises three categories for both genders, namely the Qatari Huffaz Category, the Resident Huffaz Category, and the General Resident Huffaz Category.

Regarding the awards, the committee ensured that the prizes for males and females in the full Qur'an branch are separated. Five male winners and five female winners will be honored in each category, in order to encourage and motivate female citizens and residents to participate and excel.

The first-place winner in the memorization of the entire Holy Qur'an, with proper recitation and Tajweed, in the Qatari Huffaz Category, as well as in the Resident Huffaz and General Resident Huffaz Categories, will receive a cash prize of QAR 100,000 for first-place winners of both genders.

The second-place winner will receive QAR 85,000, the third-place winner QAR 70,000, the fourth-place winner QAR 60,000, and the fifth-place winner QAR 50,000, in all categories and for both genders.

In addition, incentive cash prizes will be awarded to contestants of both genders who successfully passed the second stage but did not qualify for the third stage in the full Qur’an branch, alongside prizes for distinguished male and female participants with exceptional voices.

The Categories Branch, which focuses on memorizing portions of the Holy Qur'an, is designated for Qatari citizens, both males and females. It targets Huffaz in the following segments, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 parts, whether from the beginning or the end of the Holy Qur'an.

The committee further affirmed that contestants in the Categories Branch, male and female, may compete again in their previous category or advance to a higher one. Those absent for three years or more may enter one category below their highest previous level.

The committee intends to attract the largest number of citizens and residents, offering substantial cash prizes for all winners and for distinguished participants with exceptional voices across all five categories, in the noble field of Holy Qur'an memorization. (QNA)
