Riyadh, October 16 (QNA) - The Board of Trustees of the Asian Football Confederation's Dream Asia Foundation held its fourth meeting Thursday in Riyadh.
During the meeting, the Board affirmed its commitment to continuing to support pioneering programs in the field of social responsibility.
They noted the role of the Dream Asia Conference, organized by the Foundation yesterday (Wednesday) in cooperation with the United Nations Football for Goals Program, in raising awareness of the role of football in social development and encouraging the exchange of best practices.
Board members emphasized the importance of the discussions held at the conference in consolidating the spirit of cooperation between the AFC Member Associations, the Regional Associations, the United Nations, and other relevant partners.
They noted that these discussions will contribute to strengthening the AFC's ability to implement broader long-term plans, in line with leading standards in this field, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
During the meeting, the Foundation's Board of Trustees was briefed on the continued increase in the number of national and regional associations officially joining the Football for Goals program, the number of participants completing the AFC Child Protection Certification Courses, and the growing number of child protection officers within the system.
The decisions recently approved by the AFC Social Responsibility Committee were also approved, including the distribution of 5,000 footballs to relevant member associations, the implementation of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) program, and the expansion of strategic cooperation with international organizations, bodies, and NGOs.
