Doha, October 16 (QNA) - The Qatar 3×3 basketball team is preparing to compete in the third edition of the Asian Youth Games, which will be held in Bahrain capital, Manama, from October 22 to 31, featuring top youth teams from across Asia in various sports.

Qatar team in the 3×3 basketball competition will consist of four players: Mohamed Saeed Badri (Al Rayyan), Bakayakani Mbuji (Al Arabi), Mahamdou Diob (Al Arabi), and Azzam Mohamed Yaken (Al Gharafa). The delegation also includes Director of the 3×3 Basketball Team, Coach Yaseen Ismail.

The team is continuing its preparations in Doha before heading to Bahrain on October 21.

Coach Yaseen Ismail emphasized that participating in the Asian Youth Games represents an important milestone in the development of Qatari basketball, noting that the goal is to deliver a strong performance that aligns with the ambitions of the Qatar Basketball Federation and reflects the sport’s growing level in the country.

He added that the team's preparation included an intensive training program focusing on speed, accuracy, and shooting skills, alongside friendly internal matches aimed at enhancing team cohesion and boosting readiness for competition.

3×3 basketball is one of the most exciting and fast-paced sports in the Asian Games, as matches are played on a half-court over a short period, making it a true test of players’ mental and physical fitness.

Qatar team hopes to achieve positive results and continue the country's impressive trajectory in basketball, building on its strong performances in previous Asian and international tournaments. (QNA)
